Question on AP

I have some family emergency and need to go back to Beijing, China, the center of SARS.

Will the tightened security and epidemic affect my return?

If I do the walk-in, what kind of proof of emergency do I need? Is a letter from my parents enough?

The other question, I have EAD but working on H1-B (not a real H1 visa for re-entry). Should I switch my status to using EAD before I can apply for AP?

People are travelling in and out of china still. You may be subjected to more tests that is all.
Letter from parents is enough.
You dont have to change to EAD in order to get AP. You can switch to EAD after coming back using AP.
