Question - NVC AVM

NVC AVM says that my case was ompleted on July 7th.
How do I know when it was sent to Consulate?
How do I know when Consulate entered the case?
Does the NVC AVM change after Case is Completed?

{Depending on the consulate it is goint to, it takes approx
6 days for the packet to reach. Then give them an additional
4 or 5 days to enter in their system. Roughly in two weeks time
if you send an email to the consulate they can confirm this

my case was completed by July 7th too and my consulate is chennai also. I am planning to call NVC tomorrow to see if they have sent it already. I am hoping for a september interview. But if they delay here for couple of more days, i really doubt if I will get sep interview. keep in touch with your updates.
BTW: do u live in atlanta?

My case was completed on june 25th and NVC transfered case on July 2nd... i email mumbai consulate for approx. interview date but i haven't receive any reply yet. i will update as soon as i get it.

Yes, I am from Atlanta. I am expecting & wishing for an October interview. Do you have any idea whether AVM will change after saying the case was completed on so and so date?

According to the other CPiers, the message change after they send to the consulate. But it usually takes a day or two to update the AVM. I might call today afternoon to check the status with operator
 
I called up NVC and they have not sent the docs yet to chennai. so hopefully they will send it by tomorrow.
 
Not sure how far this is true but somewhere in this forum or a forum on other immigration site I have read that NVC creates individual packets by case numbers and then makes a collection of such packets into a parcel and couriers these parcels to various consulates ONCE A WEEK or once every OTHER WEEK.

So Cannon I am sure by end of this week (or early next week at the latest), your packet will get mailed to Chennai.
 
I called up NVC today. The operator told me that the package has been forwarded to chennai yesterday (wednesday July 16).
But the AVM has not been updated yet. Lets see if i can get sep interview.

it seems NVC AVM will update 1 or 2 days later. We will see. Mine is not udpated yet.

I checked the AVM this morning and it has been updated to:

"NVC has completed the processing of this application and has forwarded it to the embassy or consulate in 'Madras' on July 16, 2003. Please contact the embassy or consulate for further questions."

It might reach by July 22-24.
 
My wife called the US consulate at chennai and enquired about our case. The packet has reached chennai and they asked her to call next month for interview date. She didnt ask for the date it reached there. I will find out next week.
 
Does it mean we will get a Sept Interview?
Anyway thanks for finding this info.
May be we should call them aroung 15th August.
Also any idea regarding - around what date Chennai refreshes the CP Appointments on their website?

All appointment dates for next month come out on 16th of the previous month.
Eg. September interview dates will be published on or after 16th august. Sometimes they publish on 15th; sometime after 16th of the month.
