Is courtesy copy enough to get stamped for passport at Newark or
do we need original approval also from the lawyer.
What is your experience.

Yes Courtesy copy is enough. You do not need Original at all.

Take 2 Adit style photos. You can go any day other than wednesday also( I did my stamping on Monday).
But make sure to go early if you are going other than Wednesday.
