Question: layoff employess

If someone has EAD and got laid-off ater 180 dyas, how qucikly he/she has get another job in order to maintain the current status? Also, does it have to be identical category job which is normally a requirement for H-1B employees for us to change the job? Thanks in advance.

what is the time period to respond back for a RFE. that is if you are searching for a job and you get a RFE from INS , how long do you have to respond back ?

2 weeks to 4 weeks

Once an RFE or an Interview is issued you got very little time.

Since it is very hard to find a job in a similar category and since the Green Card is for a future job availability, I think you are OK as long as you can prove than the future job availability is there.
For example, you can get a letter from your employer indicating so or you can study something at college that makes you more marketable in the same job category.

So in general, as long as the 180 days have passed you are safe. This is ONLY what I think.
