Question,Gf/finance with german passport

Hi-
I just wanted to get some information. I am a US citizen. The person I want to marry has a German passport. I would like to know what would be easiest/ shorter route to take.

1. file for K 1 visa
or
2. Let her come into the countrybased on the visa waiver program for German Nationals. Once she is here get married and file paper work, AOS etc.
Is this even possible???

or
3. File for K3

Looking for the best possible route to take. Thanks in advance for your input.
