Guys,

Our I-485 has been recently approved (see signature). I have 3 kids, their ages were 9,11 and 12. We received mails from USCIS (2x) saying, that our i-485 has been approved and may need biometrics before getting the GC. Now when I checked our status online, Me and spouse, cards were sent on 11/1 while my kids (9,11 yrs old) cards were ordered (11/2) but my eldest daughter case was untouched. Does she need biometrics? And how long before I get the appointment. Anyone that has the same experience please let me know. We are planning to travel (finally after 5 years) to our home country. Thanks in advance.

Hi. We just received our son’s green card which we’d been waiting for since our case approvals in August. He is 10 years old. Below are the details.

I-485 Approved, approval notice mailed (child)– 08/21/06
Received biometrics appointment in mail (child)-10/16/06
Biometrics, code 2 (child)-10/24/06
LUD card ordered (child)-10/24/06
LUD card mailed (child)-10/27/06
Received card in mail (child)- 10/30/06

So it took 2 months from I-485 approval till the biometrics in his case. This wait time may depend on how fast the local Application Support Center is processing the biometrics appointments. Hope this info helps.
