This is tough one for me. But unfortunately I will most likely be in this situtaion. Still trying to work things.

My spouse got the GC through me as a beneficiary of the primary applicant. I was the primary applicant and we got the GC during the middle of last year (August 2001). Things have not been going well for us. If in case I got through a divorce, will my spouse loose the GC. Is there any requirement regarding the time frame that the beneficiary has to be married to the primary applicant to maintain the GC?. I dont want my spouse to loose the GC because of this.

Any info in this regard?. I would really appreciate if you do not post messages suggesting to re-concile. It is going to create more pain in my life. Believe me, we are still trying to work it out. I hope I dont have to resort to this.

Thanks in advance.

once GC always a GC!!

so..once ure done with the GC process, u can rest assured that u r both legal permanent residents of this country. One, thru the employment category and the other merely by virtue of being the prime applicant\'s spouse!

Good Luck!
