Hi Guys,
Firstly thank you guys for your endless efforts in trying to help people with their questions,i have taken the cue from you guys and am presently comfortable with I 140 issues.

Here is my question for you guys :

1.IS 485 a automatic approval process or is there a reason to worry in general.
2.In your experience what is the decline rate in % for 485
3.In your experience what have been the most common RFE\'s.

I know it is a lot to ask but maybe we can get a few pointers here...

GCCrusader,

No problem. Unfortunately, I cannot really comment much on I-485 since I have done CP. However, I try to contribute whenever I remember some relevant previous cases I read about on the AOS board.

I would suggest to read Adjustment of Status vs. Consular Processing:
Which is Best for You? at

this could help you to answer some of your questions.

Good luck!

I tend to agree with her on this one

If you apply for CP and are denied, you have no real rights to appeal and it is far more difficult for an attorney to help you.

No Title

I guess everybody needs to decide about this based on their case.
I got my I-140 approved in Nov, 2001, done my CP interview in the middle of January, 2002 and got my plastic GC today. So of course, I feel that CP is the way to go but understand that people have different reasons to choose one over the other.

My opinion

CP is considerably faster. If the case is very clean, no problems with anything. Probably worth the risk of CP to make up the time. On the other hand, if there are problems or unclear issues in the case, it\'s not worth the risk.

FWIW.
