Hello Great Guru,
Can anyone please give me some information regarding the following?

1) How many H1 can one file at a time- I have one company who has already filed for my H1 and another company who has also made me an offer and I am tempted to take them up can they also file for my H1.

2) In April the quota opens, by what date should we file for H1, does it get exhausted in few days or approximately by what date does the quota get exhausted?

Thanks

Any number if you are out side US.

earlier is better. You must prepared to apply 3 Apr 2006. (i.e. Your application must reach apr 3, 2006)

one day , may be 3 months or 6 months no body knows. But earlier is better

or approximately by what date does the quota get exhausted?

For Great Guru

Thank you Great Guru,

I am currently in USA interviewing, as you stated that I need to be outside USA to apply for Multiple H1. Well when I submit my documents I will still be in USA. Is that ok?

Thank you once again

No need. If you are applying new H1(any numbers) (not change of status) you no need be out side US.

Can I work in one state when holding H1-B in another state

Currently, I'm working in a company in one state. My employer doesn't have office in the other state which I would like to stay in because my family is there. My employer has approved that I could work from home in the other state. However, I don't know whether it is legal to do this. Could you please give me advice on this issue and tell me the law about it? Appreciate it.

If your company is in CA and you are doing consulting for your company in NY temporarily, you can do so with no change in your LCA. But your payroll should be generated in CA and your state tax deduction paid to CA.
