Question:are LUDs specific for each case?

Hello.
Can someone please share their experience...
Are LUDs specific for each application? I mean, if you apply for EAD or AP for example, you might get an LUD before approval, but on the EAD/AP case number only? Or can you get LUD on your I-485 for that matter?
Thanks for your input.

My experience

mvusa,

On my applications I have seen LUD changes on specific applications and also on all applications when something got approved. The same is true for a lot of people I know. Technically the LUD change should be for the application that is being approved (EAD, AP, 140 or 485) but anything is possible. There have been instances when approvals occurred without any LUD changes. So like most things with this process there is no hard and fast rule.

Hope this answers your question.

The best thing is that you are EB2 and not EB3. This means that your application can be approved right now. Lately LUD changes have been very erratic and it has been hard to determine whats going on. I think its a good thing that the LUD is changing. Maybe your name check results came back and the officer is now working on the case. This is the best case scenario and I hope it is the case. However, it could mean nothing because a lot of people have seen LUD changes without much results. As for the RFE, it takes about a week to get to the lawyer. My wifes 485 had an RFE in March which was replied to in early April. We are still waiting for approval so you never know how long it will take. If the namecheck is still pending then the case will not be approved irrespective of when the RFE reply is received by TSC.

good luck.

I see an avalanche of EB2s I-485s approvals soon. Go to a thread of LUD changes from EB2s just started today and see many are getting LUDs and approvals!!!
The best of luck!
