question about Writ of Mundamus

Couple questions about Writ of Mundamus (suing the CIS):
1- Can a person file for a Writ of Mundamus on his own? Without a lawyer?

2- What's a typical range of legal fee (if you were to hire an attorney) to file the Writ of Mundamus?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I filed a marriage-based I-485 application almost 2.5 years ago, but still no response!

To answer your questions:

1- Yes! You can do it without a lawyer
2- $1000-$2000 should be a fair range depending on expertise.

But even before filing for WOM, make sure you have exhausted all other avenues.
good luck

lazerthegreat,

Thank you for your response. I have done several phone inquiries, written to congressman a few times, made infopass appointments and went to the local CIS office. I have may be 6 or so letters from the CIS - which were pretty much copied/pasted, saying that your case processing has been delayed. I've been waiting for almost 2.5 years now! I thought that would make a pretty strong case??? Especially since mine is a marriage-based petition.
