Question about wife who is on H1-B without a job

Hi,

I am on H1-B visa and got my 1-140 cleared this year. We applied for H1-B visa for my wife last year and got her H1, she didn't get a job till now and we are still looking for a job for her. My wife entered in US last time on H4 visa which is expired now, and same is my visa. My employer is filling for my H1 extension because my H1 is getting expired in next 5,6 months. Would it be a good idea to file for my wife's H1 to H4 transfer through my employer when they file for my H1 extension? Or are there any other better option(s) we can do in my case?

There is something missing... if she got H1 why doesn't she have a job? H1 is specific to working for an employer. Did she changed her status to H1?

As soon as you're not working for your H1 employer, you're out of status.

Why is her H4 expired? Because she changed to H1???

If your wife got H1 without a real job to go with the H1, both her and her employer are party to immigration fraud.
