Hi,
My Mom has a green card and has had it since 1998 so about 7 years now. She hasn't been eligible for citizenship before because she never stayed n the U.S long enough. I believe the requirement is 2 1/2 (30 months)out of the 5 years with absences of less than 6 months. But in the past 5 years from today, she has stayed with absences of less than 6 months for 2 1/2 years (30 months). My question is is she now eligible for citizenship? Will they look at her record since 1998. Some of her absences on trips in 1998 and 1999 were longer than 6 months. Any help and advise would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Anita
