Question about TN status support letter wording?

Hi everyone,

Thank you in advance for anyone reading this post and offering their advice! I'm honestly learning so much while reading about everyone's experience and so grateful there are other people sharing their stories to alleviate some of the stress that immigration always brings.

I am in the process of finalising the wording on the TN status support letter my company is writing and which I will bring to the POE. My question is that I'm being hired for a position which will start out as part time and transition to full time (pretty quickly). I'm paid per hour (which is pretty standard in my industry – healthcare), and so while they build by caseload I'll obviously be starting out part time and as they add more clients, become full time. My employer agrees that it would not make sense to have to go back to the POE during COVID times to get a "full-time" TN status, and so we're trying to write something to the extent of "I will be hired as part-time, working towards full-time status in my xxx healthcare position xxx ...." (and we go briefly into more details as to when full-time will be achieved, eg. when I get a certain amount of hours/clients on my caseload).

Does anyone have any suggestions on the wording or thinks it is a blatant problem/error with writing part & full time into the TN support letter? Is it a big red flag or something that is understandable/other people have been approved on TN status before using similar language or in a similar situation?

Thank you in advance for any advice :) Take care!

I would simply state the hourly wage and your minimum hourly schedule. "$xxx.xx per hour for a minimum of yy hours per week" There is no need to stipulate full-time or part-time on the letter. They don't care about your future plans. And certainly no need to get a new TN until your job description changes, which is not likely.
