Just reading the latest Visa Bulletin -

In section G. DIVERSITY VISA LOTTERY 2007 (DV-2008) RESULTS
Beside Australia, it has the number 649
Does that mean that there were 649 applications that were originally drawn?
Or does this mean there are 649 GC's available?
Because my number is 9XX I thought it would be strange that if there were 649 people 'selected' in the first round then why would my number be 9XX?
Just trying to make sense of it. Saying that this time last year, the cut off for October was 120... 300 for this year. Yay! *fingers and toes crossed*
