question about the documents needed for NIW

My employer is not welling to help me at all with GC. I applied for NIW. I am on H1 and formerly was on J1. My H1 starts from September 2004. However I started working (i.e actually seeing patients) in October 15th .From September to October I was waiting for the hospital privileges and for the liability insurance. Do they count the 3 years that is needed for the waiver from September or from October.

In the begenning I was not keeping the paychecks copies and then I knew that I have to keep them later. So I dont have the copies of the paychecks for the first 3 months. Is this a problem?

Your NIW clock starts on the date of your H-1b approval after J-1 waiver. Paystubs may not be needed. USCIS asks for the w-2 forms and copies of your tax returns. However would be a good idea to hold on to the paystubs
