I have got my green card last year. My wife wants to go to India for 9 months. will it affect her chance of getting US citizenship later on?

Yeah... work around will be to wait another year if she doesn't go out of country more than 6 months next year.
 
Possibly. She should ideally avoid any stays outside the US beyond six months. If it cannot be avoided, research a re-entry permit.

You just have to see the number of people here who are worried about the n400 because of such long stays. Do yourself a favor and see that she doesn't stay out longer than 5-6 months.

Short answer is yes, it could definatly affect her chance of getting US citizenship...

You just have to see the number of people here who are worried about the n400 because of such long stays. Do yourself a favor and see that she doesn't stay out longer than 5-6 months.

A single trip of 5-6 months should not cause a problem. Anything longer, or a series of back to back trips, can have rather negative repercussions.
