question about receipt date.

Is the receipt date you guys are talking about here the date you receive the Application Receipt Number or the day the application package is delivered according to the delivery confirmation?

I mailed my application package on Feb. 24th with certified mail and the return receipt card. More than a week past, I haven't received anything. :(

I am a little worried, is this normal?
 
It's normal to wait a long long time for anything at all from the USCIS. Just check your delivery confirmation notice if you have one, otherwise you'll just have to twiddle your thumbs. If you become very concerned, call customer service and ask them to make an inquiry for you.
 
when you get your NOA (I-797), it would contain two dates printed on it.

Receipt Date: The date when USCIS officially received your package, not necessarily the date when USPS delivered your package

Notice Date: The date when USCIS entered your information on their system and generated a receipt number and/or A# for you.
 
The RD (receipt date) is an official date you'll find on those papers the USCIS will send to you sooner or later.
You should be able to track & confirm your package at USPS' website (see the Track&Confirm field on the right hand side). Just put in your label number and ENTER. It'll tell you what happened to your package.
Be patient, I did the same thing and it showed "not delivered" ever since, even though I already had a NOA letter in my hand.

The delivery confirmation shown it is delivered, but I haven't receive the return receipt yet.
I guess I just have to be more patient.

Also, keep an eye on your bank acc... if they encash your check it means ev thing is fine n dandy. :)

Hi,

Did you recieve any recipt/notice from USCIS regarding your I-485 yet???
I'm in the same situation, I also send my package on Feb 24th. BUt haven't recieved anything from uscis.
BTW What is your District office?mine is Cahrlotte, NC.
