Question about Priority Date.

Hello All.

I understand that the Priority Date is currently being used to determine when people from countries affected by the retrogression can file for I-485.

However I'd like to know if the Priority Date is also used somehow to determine when an already filed I-485 case can be processed or adjudicated or does it have any other use?

Thanks.

I think it's based on your LC filed date, which is Priority Date for GC processes.

That's the reason you see many approvals for people who filed I140/485 during 2003 and some are still waiting .

Did you get any update on your I485 after I140 approval through BCIS motion?

The only update I got was the horrible and stupid message saying that the case was reopened on a bcis motion and that it would take between 570 and 600 days....

So the LC date (same as PD) is used to decide when a filed I485 should be adjudicated??

Hope you get your approval soon.

I485 adjucated based LC PD ? Yes, It looks like true.

To double check open the Excel file of I485 -RFE - Nebraska Tracker, you may notice many approvals for LC PD during 2001/2002 within 3 to 4 weeks after receiving RFE Documents.
