Question about Period of stay in B2

Hello all,

Do we have to stick to the duration that we mention in DS156 - Immigration application form? If we are granted a longer period of stay on I94 at the port of entry, is it okay to stay for some more time.

For ex. DS156 (four months), I94 granted for 6 months. If we stay for 5 months, will it be a problem anytime later?

Once you are admitted and issued an I-94, the expiry date on that is really what matters. You can stay until your I-94 is valid.
