Question about Joint Sponser

I have a joint sponsor who is my friend not a family member. Does he need to file I-864 or I-864A? What other documents he need to submit too? Any help with be appreciated, thanks a lot

He will need to submit the I-864.

tax transcript
W-2's for the last year
employment letter
Proof of US residency

HI, I also had a joint sponsor who was a distant cousin, if I remember correctly they asked him for his 2005 taxes, and proof of residency. I think that was it, if I remember correctly he also filled out some paperwork. A few months afterwards my lawyer informed me that both him and I would need to submit our W-2's from 2005, and a letter of proof from our jobs. I couldnt get ahold of him but luckily the lawayer still had his W-2's from before, he said that it would be fine with just that.
