Hello everyone.. I have a relative who is in the following situation.. any help would be greatly appreciated:

She is in her 30's and has a son in his early teens. She is a widow. They were born and still live in Iran. Her mom has a green card for 7 years now and lives in the US. I realize that she can apply for her daughter to obtain a green card, but is it a problem that she has a son? Also, does anyone know approximately how long it takes for them to be able to come to the US? Thanks again.

The US based mother must first petition for her widowed daughter. The teenager can be added on the I-130. However by the time this I-130 is approved and a visa is ready to be issued to the widowed daughter, the teenager may have aged out.
