Question about I-485's assistance question

I'm getting ready to file my I-485. I just have one question. I'm going to be doing it by myself since I don't have any criminal problems and my case is pretty simple. I don't think is necessary to get a lawyer for this, right?
The only question that I'm uncomfortable with is "Have you received public assistance in the United States from any source, including the United States government or any state, county, city or municipality (other than emergency medical treatment), or are you likely to receive public assistance in the
future?"
I have an slidding fee in a health center. They give you a cheaper rate according to your annual income. Would that be considered as assistance?
Also, about 4 years ago, my family was in a harsh situation so my dad would go to a church to pick up some food and also to "good neighboor". This one pretty much qualify as assistance. However, they just asked his name and nothing else. Do you think I should mention it since it appears there won't be any record of that? How about when you receive some unemployment benefits. Since you pay for those while you are working, I don't think they are assistance per say, but I might be wrong.
I'm just scared they are going to think we are going to ask for help for the goverment. We have never applied for food stamps or medicare. Now we are better off. It is just so hard when you come here not knowing anything or anyone.
Thank you in advance! :o

It does not matter if these qualified as public assistance. Asylees can receive public assistance with no negative immigration law repercussions.
