Question about H1-B transfer/extension

I am completing 6 yrs on my H1B in Dec 2007. However, I am planning to change employer (have a job offer in hand) and would like to know if I can get a H1-B extension/tranfer through my new employer.

Here is my status:

I-485 pending since October 2005. My I-485 petition is under derivative adjustment as it was filed along with my husband's petition. I also have EAD (valid till Dec 2007) though I have not used it. I have filed for my EAD extension but would rather be on H1-B with my new employer because EAD approvals are somewhat slow these days.

I also have AP (valid till Sept 2007) that I used to enter the US last time.

Any help in this will be greatly appreciated.

Since you already used your AP to enter you are under AP
only option is use your EAD and renew. As such you are not eligible for 7th year H1 extn, unless you have your own LC/I 140 are under process.
