Hi Friends,

I just got my I-140 approved, and I am preparing my documents to file I-485. Since my lawyer asks $2500 for filing I-485, I think I have to do it by myself. There are some questions I need you help:
1. Is it necessary to have a lawyer to file I-485?
2. My I-140 is in EB3 and PD is Dec. 1999, and I need file I-485 for my wife and kids. Do I need to fill the I-864 form (Affidavit Support)and attach 3 years tax return forms?
3. Is it a problem if I change the working place inside the same company after I-140 was approved?
4. Is there an interview before I-485 can be approved?
Thanks in advance!

too much

I would recommend that you get a lawyer to fill up your paper work. I found lawyers from $800 to $3,000. After shopping around I found one good one for $1200 with the application fee. If you fill up yours and then you always will have to back it up yourself. With a lawyer you have a mental satisfaction.

Therefore, friend shop around and do it using a lawyer. We all have enough things to worry about then dealing with this extra problem. Good luck..

maru,

if the applicant submits EAD & AP forms along with I-485, do the dependents also HAVE to submit them or can they just continue with H4 visas?

thanks.
