Hi,

My lawyer told me if I can\'t get the EAD card 90 days after the notice date, I can go to INS office and take the card directly.
Is that right?

My EAD application\'s ND is April,30,2001. How long will it take to get approval?

Thanks,
Maggie

This is very unpredictable.

It can anytime between 3 weeks to 5 months depending upon your "luck".

But my lawyer said the maximum waiting time for EAD is 90 days. After 90 days, I can go to local INS office directly and get the card.

Is it correct?

Thanks,
Maggie

Maggie,

If your EAD is an renewal, your lawyer is right: you can go to
a local INS near you to apply for an interim EAD if the renewal
application has been pending for 90 days.

If your EAD is a first time EAD, you can still try. Some INS
offices are willing to give out interim EAD for first timers.

Ciba:

Thank you for your information. One more question: does "90 days" here means business days or normal days?

Didn\'t get my H1B approval yet after long waiting(5 months). So hope to get EAD card as soon as possible. :(

Thanks,
Maggie

maggie,

90 day is calendar day (including weekdays, holidays,
etc).
