Wife has a great CN in Afrina 62xxx. I calculate total winners for africa and it is 53 979. Can any one tell me why her number is greater than 53 979 ????

The numbers are not consecutive. Apparently, there are large gaps.

That is the number of initial winners -- and not all of them will get a interview slot...

And there are gaps between numbers..

last year the september cutoff for africa was 62,300 -- so i'd be hopeful if i were you!!
