Hey guys, first of all, great forum and lots of useful information. I have been married to my wife almost for 2 years and have recently sent out my 130,485,765 with bio's all at once to chicago's lockbox and been notified by usps that they received the package on July 15th 2009. It is Almost end of July, and the checks haven't been cashed nor got any notification from USCIS.

Is this normal for the proccessing to take this long, just to get a notification they have received anything?

Thank you,
Jacob

Yes, I have a few answers for you.. see my time line below as well. There is a slight delay at the Chicago office right now. I sent mine July 6th, they arrived July 9th and I didn't get any receipt number or notification until TODAY. I was getting very worried, but its just a normal delay. There was another person in the forum "July Family based filers- post here" and he filed the same time as I, but his was rejected because he filed the wrong fees. (You should join the July forum, we help each other with info. along the way).

There is a couple answers for you, if you filed everything correctly with appropriate fees, I would wait a while. You can call the USCIS after 30 days to track your case if you still haven't received anything, before 30 days they won't touch your case.

Thanks Spanishgirl, It gave me a bit piece of mind that I am not alone out here that it takes so long. I will definitely look into a July filers thread and keep up with updates!

Thanks,
Jacob

Do not worry too much ;)!

Its weird because on the receipt numbers that I received in the mail today, it said that the forms were processed on the 22nd of July, but I called both the USCIS and my bank on the 23rd of July and my checks weren't cashed, nor was I in the USCIS system yet! So have a peice of mind, there is definately a delay. Also, when you join the July Filers forum, include a time line so we can all see when you sent forms etc.
