Question about AP, please help.

I am currently holding a H1B which is good until July 2003 and my AOS is pending. I just received my AP and plan on going back to my home country next week. If I use AP for returning to the US, can I still use my H1B and continue to work for the current employer?

I am considering to apply EAD right away but it will probably take 2 to 3 months. What are my options?

First of all, if you have valid H1B then why you have to travel on AP. H1B athorize you to work and travel. H1B can be used as sufficient traveling document, you dont need anything if you have H1B valid until July 2003, why you need EAD.
