Question about advance parole

Hello,
Have a few quick questions about advance parole (i-131).
I applied for GC in december 2006 and had interview in April 2007. Basically stuck in name check. I am thinking of applying for AP incase of an emergency.

My questions:
1) How long is advance parole valid for after receiving it. If I get it in August 2007, till when is it valid (if I don't use it)

2) Is AP valid for one time use only? Can I use it to enter US more than 1 time?

Thanks a lot!

You can apply for AP online.

AP is valid for atleast a year.

When e-filing, you have an option of requesting AP with multiple re-entries. Once approved, they will usually send you 4 copies of the AP. Everytime you re-enter US, you must present one AP copy and the immigration officer will keep that copy.

Things seem to have changed in the AP world. When I was going through AOS, both my AP documents came with two copies only. The first copy was taken at first usage of the AP. For all other crossings, the officers just looked at my copy of the AP and let me in.

I also received two copies of 'multiple entry' AP docs. I presented one when I entered the US in March (I'm not sure if I even had the other copy on me at that time - they never asked), which got stamped and signed, and I got it back.

Thank you for that post

I was kinda worried that I got only 2 copies and wasn't sure how to use it. so, in short I have to carry both the copies with me when I travel right? Even if I have to give away one copy when I enter the US, I will still have the other one. Or if they return back the first copy itself stamped, that would be perfect.

Another question that I have is - which line should I go and stand at when I enter the US (ie., at the immigration) ? The Visitor/H1B lines or the GC/Citizen lines??? Please can u tell me that.

Thanks

I entered with my USC wife and they directed us to the 'citizens/residents' line. I'm guessing when traveling alone, you'll have to go to the 'visitors' line.
