I received my green card in 1995 and had lived in the same address in San Jose, CA ever since then until July 29th, 2005. I moved to Taiwan for work from July 29th, 2005, came back to the States on January 19th, 2006 and lived in the same US address for about one month. Then, I went back to Taiwan again on February 15th 2006. I just came back on July 2nd, 2006 and will stay in the same US address for one year. None of my outside the country trips has been more than 6 months. Can I apply for citizenship in July, 2006 in San Jose district? Or do I have to wait until 3 months later to meet the 3 months residency in the district requirement?
The address in San Jose where I live is a house I own, and I have always claimed it as my permanent residence. So, my question is whether during the time I worked in Taiwan has terminated my 3 month residency in San Jose district.
Your answer is much appreciated.
