Query on L1 to GC

I am on L1 visa in US, i am going to get married with a Greencard holder in US.if she applies a GC for me and once the GC processing starts a) will i be allowed to work on L1 b) will i be allowed to travel to other countries c) if i go back to my country, will i be allowed to come to US again to work on either L1 or H1 visa?
 
Filing for GC consists of several steps. First yo uwill have to get your immigration visa - this is done through filing of I-130. Once that approved and your priority date become current - see visa bulletin for that, dates vary greatly - you will be able to apply for I-485 9 adjustment of statsu )
You will have to maintain your legal status all the time until your I-485 filed - in your case that make take years.
You will be able to maintain your L1 status if you wanted after that as well. Plus you will be eligible for travel document and work authorization.
Be careful, the key here is to maintain legal status - L1 is a good option - all the time until I-485 is filed.
