Hi. Me and my parents have a multiple B1/B2 visa. Issue date Nov 2001. Exp Nov 2011. We're planning a visit this July-end or August. Now, my question is that since we've not travelled to US since so many years and since the rules are more rigid than they were ever before, is it required for us to get anything confirmed from here?

Also, about POE - I've just understood that they make the visitors fill some I-94 and decide about our limit of stay.. Anything more than that? And we're gonna be on a trip with our family friends in US. So, we'll be staying with them throughout. It wouldn't be a problem if we tell them that we have somebody there na?

You can travel to USA even on the last date of valid visitor visa and on this account you will have no problem.
Before the flight lands at POE, you will be given in the flight a form known as I 94 arrival/departure record. You need to have an address where you will stay in USA.
You need to fill in the form and stand in non immigration queue at POE. Normally, the immigration Officer (IO) will ask a first time visitor few questions like
1. Why do you come to USA?
2. With whom will you be staying while in USA?
3. How long will you be staying in USA?
After satisfactory reply from you, the IO will keep the arrival record with him and give you a I 94 departure record in which he will stamp a date as admitted which means you can stay till that date in USA. Normally a 6 months stay is granted to a first time visitor based on your satisfactory reply. Of course it all depends on the IO on I 94 date.
I strongly recommend that you leave USA atleast 15 days before the last date mentioned in I 94 form.
Good wishes.

thank you

heyy thanks buddy.. that was good help! I will see to it that we leave wel in advance b4 the last I 94 date..

We'll book for a round trip... so wat about our return tickets.. they'll be for a specific day right? can that be altered once we kno wen we are to leave?

If the airline lets you change them, sure why not. Just a word of caution. A POE inspector might issue I-94s to match the ticket return date. I have seen it happen!!!

thanks! We are going there for not more than 2 n a half months, as my father's work will suffer here, so the return tickets wil be according to dat.. So even a 3 months limit wud suffice, however 6 months wud be more convenient.

thanks anyway, I'll found about al the possibilities about da date issues.
