Q reg Eligibility rule for Citizenship

The question I have is:

My Green Card was approved in Sep of 2001 while my wife's case, who was a dependent on my application, was approved in 2004.

I have heard from some people that when I become eligible to apply for citizenship this year, my wife can also apply along with me and the 5 year waiting period will not apply to her case since she was a dependent on my GC application.

Can you advise me if this is true and can both of us apply together this year?

Thank you.

i do not think it is a matter of she was a dependent on your gc application at at time. after she got her gc, she would be the individiual to apply the citizenship. pls review the n400 guideline for details. only benefit for her not to wait for 5 yrs would be married to a USC for 3 yrs, and being a PR for 3 yrs also. However, it is not the case for her. She would wait for her 5 yrs + other applicable requirements.

If I am a US citizen

My wife received her GC 2 years ago.How long does she have to wait to apply for citizenship? Is it 3 years from GC, or 3 years in the country?

Thanks

if she was married to a USC at lesat 3 yrs, and have her GC for at lesat 3 yrs, then she can apply her citizenship based on marriage.

why don't you download the naturalization guideline and study the requirement? they spell all the requirements out very clearly.
