Q on quitting job after GC

I got my GC after a long 4 year wait in June. Now I am planning to quit working and stay at home with kids from oct. In the forums I have read a lot of advice about not changing employers within 6-12 months. Since I am not changing employers, is it going to be okay to just quit working and still maintain my status without any problems down the road.

Any help is greatly appreciated !

I think it is suggestible to continue to work for the same employer as long as possible. GC is applied for a future job with the company that sponsored your GC. It would be better if you get laid off rather than quitting the job yourself. This way you can always say that you could not find another job. Make sure you get a letter from the employer stating the same before you get laid off.
