q about the new passport,pls advice

i just renew my passport which was about to expire. i have received a new one, but the pass number is different. should i inform INS about my new passport????
please advice

No you don't have to inform INS about your new passport. I would recommend you staple the new passport's back cover with the old passport's front cover. You'll have to take both of them in all your trips outside US (as the old one contains your visa). At the port of entry, the officer will stamp and pin your I94 to your new passport.
