Can we try to contact some influential reporters from newspapers and try to get stories published that point how I-485 processing delays may be compromising national security ?

Do any of our members have access to newspaper/reporters ?

Yes it does.

Security checks, fingerprinting, FBI checks are all a part of I-485 processing. It is my understanding that all these check are done to determine the criminal records of the applicants (including national security issues like Spying, terrorism etc.).

By taking months/years to do the activities required to process I-485

-- Fingerprinting takes 3-4 Months after application.
-- Processing of fingerprints (according to USCIS) takes even longer.

By delaying the processing, USCIS is allowing unwanted/risk prone people to continue to live in the US.

Does it not affect national security in the current environment ?

This is true if known criminals have filed 485 and are waiting for USCIS/FBI to catch them.

But the fact is no criminal is idiotic enough to file for adjustment of status. So, then what the hell are these BCIS guys taking 2 years to adjudicate 485 for.

Basically I sent the very same message about 485 delays posing a security risk to Diane Feinstein's office and got one of their stock replies.

I wish all CIS understand this.

All the problems started due to their own mistake of approving the visa for dead terrorists.
