Hi guys,
I have been quietly watching these forums for a while now and have noticed that views on what is necessary for the public charge provisions seem to differ vastly, perhaps we should consolidate all these opinions in a single thread?
I will be attending my interview in Johannesburg in June and cannot find anyone who has ever done it this way, which is less than encouraging, has anyone else done it in SA, or even in neighbouring countries that aren't Nigeria?
Here is my big question;
There will be three of us attending the interview, myself (the principal) my husband (who is self employed) and our 6 year old daughter.
We are not degree'd, I have never been unemployed and have held the same reasonably high level position for 3.5 years, with one other long term position before that.
We are in our twenties, and do not have sufficient cash to meet the poverty guideline requirement, nor do we have a sponsor willing to sign the I-134.
We have friends and family in the states who have given us letters stating that we can stay with them and they will offer assistance where possible in finding jobs.
We have multiple forms of evidence that we are employable in our chosen state and that work is available but cannot get job offers without visas.
We do have the value in assets (if we add our home value above mortgage, both cars, equipment, furniture and bank accounts we come in comfortably over the guidelines)
What evidence will they accept and has anyone else been successful with a combination of circumstances?
