Proving ties to home country in Canada for H1 visa stamping

Hi,

I am an Indian citizen currently working in the US. I already have my H1-B approved and now need to get it stamped. I have an appointment in Vancouver for the same. I have a completed US degree and all my documents seem in order.

My question is, has anyone been asked by the Canadian consular officers to prove their ties to India during the H1B stamping interview?. If so, could you please share it here?

Appreciate your help.

Thanks,

What tie are you talking about? your passport is Indian. what other bigger proof do you need?

Unlike F or B etc visa, H1 is dual intent visa and tie to your home country should not matter and
you do not need to prove non-immigrant intent. That is one of big advantages of H1 and L1.

So essentially, a visa officer cannot ask me to prove my ties to my home country (he will ask me to prove my ties in the US, by home country I mean India). When one goes to get the H1B visa stamped in Canada, one can safely leave all documents that prove ties to India (such as property deeds and/or bank statements) at home.

Is that a correct assumption?

visa officer can ask any question if they thught it's necessary. I do not know if they ask this question, but I haven't heard anybody to bring the tie to their home country to H1 interview. It is EXTREMELY unlikely for them to ask for that doc since H1 is dual intent visa.
