Proof of I-140 when changing employers

Do you need any proof of the approved I-140, like the receipt number or a photo copy of the approval, to change employers? I don't think my employer will give those details to me.

---------------NO. but you may be having I-140 filing reciept # or filing reciept if the employer dont give I-140 approval copy that is ok. you need I-485 filing reciept as I-485 belongs to YOU

I have the 485 receipt but not the I-140 receipt number. Since the company owns the 140, they won't give it to me. I just wanted to make sure that if I have 485 receipt and if the 140 is approved, I don't need the 140 number to change employers.

I would say - have some kind of proof of I-140 to be on safer side....It's always good to have the receipt number for sure....

Without the receipt number of I-140 - you may be in torubled waters - ON WHAT BASIS, DID YOU FILE YOUR I-485??

AND, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE I-140 Receipt Number, what is the proof that it got approved?? IT JUST RAISES TOO MANY QUESTIONS....

but, legally, I think you may be fine....I don't think you need any proof of I-140.....
