Proof of financial support by american spouse

Hi,
My fiancee (USC) and I will be getting married soon and start the green card application process for myself. She, however, in the last few years has been supported by her parents and thus has no tax filing information, though recently she has a permanent job and filed for part of last year's earnings that she worked. We are a bit worried about proving her financial support for me, though I do work and have filed taxes the last few years. I've heard we'd need another USC's financial sponsorship, so I just wanted to get more information on that and if we will have a hard time proving ourselves financially, though in real life we do support ourselves and each other financially.

Does she make more than $22,000/year (I assume you do not have kids or do not live in Alaska or Hawaii)? Do you have assets in the bank (saving, checking, stocks)? If you have enough you might be able to avoid needing another sponsor.
In certain conditions you can use your income to supplement your wife's, so that can help too.
 
Thank your for your reply. Now with her new job she will be making more than that, the issue is just her not having tax returns from previous years since she didn't support herself. but if we were to need another sponsor, how involved would it be? say asking her mom to co-sponsor, we wouldn't want to stress her out too much... If I have a few years' worth of tax returns showing more than 22,000 could that count for something also?

If you are living in the same household (and assuming that you do not have kids), you can use your own salary to sponsor yourself. You will need a letter from your employer stating that your job will continue even after you get your green card.
 
That sounds good, but I'm actually self-employed. I do have a business registration certificate with the city. Would that help taking into account my previous years' income and tax returns?
