Hi guys,

my interview is scheduled for end of Feb and they ask for proof of citizenship for my wife. ( U.S. citizen). She came to the U.S. as a child. I have her passport, will that be enough ? I also have a copy of her parents naturalization letter (front page only) but her name is not on it however she was a minor ( 7 y.o) when her parents got naturalized.

Am I good to go or do I need something else ?

thanks

Through her parents she as a kid(before 16years) could have a citizenship certificate issued? It may be helpful is you could get a copy filing Form N-565 if lost.

Her unexpired US passport is good enough for your interview. But someday she should apply for her own citizenship certificate.

Sounds good. Thanks guys. I'll bring all the papers I have anyways.

btw, on the N-659 Interview document check list, what is the difference between 3.B: current marriage certificate and 3.E: proof of marital union ? wedding picture maybe ? thanks.

Proof of marital union is about having a life together as a married couple -- living at the same address, having a joint bank account, having joint lease/mortgage/car ownership, health and/or life insurance with other spouse as a beneficiary, etc.
