Promotion, experience and PERM - Please advise

Dear Friends,

After patiently waiting several years I am expecting a promotion soon. Before joining my current employer I had six months experience. I am thinking of filing a PERM after the promotion. Can I use the five years experience in my current position as a job requirement in the PERM application ? Or am I stuck with the six months experience I had before joining the company ?

it needs to be more than 50% different

You can use your experience with the current employer if you can prove that the job responsibilities and duties after the promotion are substantially more than 50% different from your duties before promotion.
