Lets us discuss the strategy of Project Ocean FAX/MAIL/Other in this thread.

For example 140_takes_4ever is suggesting to do Project Ocean activities one after another. Otherwise its overwhelming for individuals to work on more than one parallely going Ocean activities.

I'm Suggesting to do Ocean activities in phases. I'll post respective posts here.

Already opened a thread for Congressman Pete Stark. Please find the thread here: http://immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115981

Don't want to open a thread for all the Congressmen at the same time (it will cause confusion), instead let us work by a game plan. We can all fax one Congressman, follow it up with letters and phone calls. During which we can request "face" time/responses to our queries and targetted questions towards Don Neufield.

Since Pete Stark is having his town hall meeting in March, it was imperative to fax him our letters first in an organized manner. As soon as we are done with him we can move systematically towards the next person on our list.

Please send your fax and post in the new thread listed above.

I think we need to define the theme for each Project Ocean compaign.

In case of Zoe Logren, as kuldeepc says they are aware of our situation and are co-operationg already. Then do we still want bomard them with FAXes about our problems and requesting support or appreciate their continuing support to our cause, thank them and request them to continue their support.

Where is in case of Mike Honda we have to start pretty much from the begining. Explain our situation, hardships, lawsuit and ask for his support.

So I would say, we have to devide FAX companins into phases.

PHASE 1:

The recepient need not be aware of our problems, may not have recognized our streangth and importance. Did not take us serious.

Lets send FAXes with our problems, hardships, lawsuit what are expecting etc.

PHASE 2:

The receipient knows us as an organization as a whole. He/She knows that we are not compaiging as an individual but as an organization. He/She developed some sympathy/soft corner and responding positively.

FAXes shoud start with appreciating their responses, their actions and support. Update them with whats happening right now. Thank them and request for continuing support. Request any meetings if possible.

I_140,

Currently, we have 3 fax campaignes to Pete Stark, Mike Honda, Zoe Lofgren. Our request should be the following 2.
1) contact the CSC of the USCIS and express frustrations with the I-485 processing delays;
2) hold Don Neufeld to his promise and obtain specific plans to reduce the I-485 backlogs without more de-prioritizing of I-485 immigrant benefits.
Am I right? I think many members get confused also.
You can put fax compaigns threads as important temporarily (say one week), so more attention will be attracted.

For coming two events in mid March, I propose two new challenges:
1) Invite MEDIA to the events.
2) Prepare PAMPHLET to give to attendees.
We can discuss the detail at each thread.

Hi, wittAAAA,

> Currently, we have 3 fax campaignes to Pete Stark, Mike Honda, Zoe Lofgren.

Let's focus the campaign to Pete Stark for a couple of days.
For Mike Honda and Zoe Lofgren, let's discuss at another thread.

Our requests should be fine.

Done.

I propose that one or two active member(s) takes the initiative for each campaign or activity
because each campaign or activity has its own goal.

For instance,
3/13/2004 Pete Stark Town Meeting - kash777 and 140_takes_4ever
3/17/2004 Preview of New Americans (Zoe Lofgren/Mike Honda) - kuldeepc and rk4gc
PROTEST - kadamtal and hussein
...
These are just examples.
I don't think we need to decide at the beginning.

Of course, we can share information and resource for common items.

Also, I recommend one thread per event.
