Project Kashmir #2 : WAC I485 Case Status

Yo kash, whats up with all the nulls?
Also, are you updating this thread anymore?
http://immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78398
The previous thread became too large, so I started this new thread to post information and data based on scanning in FY2004.
I plan to copy some important information and data from the previous thread to the first page of this new thread.
Attached null files keep the places where attachments will be stored in near future because it is impossible to add an attachment later.
Also, index to FY2003 data at the previous thread will be provided, so please keep the previous thread.

kashmir,
I've noticed a new type of online status,

"On ..., 2003, the card order was completed and we mailed the applicant's new card directly to him or her. If 14 days have passed... "

you may wish to update the sciprt, because this status usually falls into "unknown" category.

Hi, ND022202,
Thanks for your letting us know.

I will update the Counter Java classes and re-create the reports.
Fortunately, as I have been saving all status messages in full description, I may just execute reporting programs again.

WAC02 I485 scan completed

All WAC02 I485 cases were re-scanned today,
but Parser and Counter (Java) classes must be updated to support new description of approved/card ordered case status as mentioned at the previous message.

As you know, I am shifting my focus from this project to the petition, especially my new project the Project Ocean,
so I may have to suspend reporting data of the Project Kashmir for a while.

A suggestion & a question

hi,

I have been watching this status listing for quite some time...Wonderful job by Kashmir...I was wondering -

1. If its possible to include the headers "Aprv", "Trns" etc more often in the listing (say every 50 rows or after each subtotal), so its easier to read, without scrolling up...
2. Ive a vague idea or my own assumptions about what each status means, but not clear 100% - is there a explanation of the statuses somewhere? For e.g., I presume Trns = transferred to USCIS local office, but am not sure at all abt what cases go under "Others"...Also, does "Aprv" contain count of all cases with status better or = approved ? (approved, got notice, got plastic stages)

thanks!

Hi, drkamath,
Thanks for your suggestion #1,
however, inserting the headers more frequently causes a technical trouble
because one message cannot exceed 10,000 characters.
WAC02 I485 status table is devided to three parts now, but it must be devided to four parts to implement your suggestion #1.
It is an overhead.
You may create a report in your format from CSV file, and post it.

For your question #2, I have no time to answer here right now.
1) You may get some idea to read through the first half of the previous thread.
2) You can compare the report with CSV file. You will see an asnwer after simple calculation.
3) Somebody knowledgeable in this forum may give you an answer.

hello Genius kashmir

I cannot open the files. How can I open it let me know in my computer..

Hi Kashmir:

Since you are now busy with the other 2 projects, would it be possible for you to stage the scripts/files that you run. I am in the WAC 02 category and I am really anxious to see if the processing has picked up since Oct 1.

Or if its not too much trouble could you pls run the scripts maybe like once a week or something.

Thanks for your help to us all.

Now, I am focusing the Project Ocean only.

As I have already posted, I completed the weekend scan on 10/4/2003,
but it requres my time preparing data and creating reports, and it is not a priority (like USCIS for EB I-485).

I have just checked the latest log files quickly by UNIX "grep" and "wc" commands.
Only 21 I485 cases seem to have been approved in October, 2003.
I believe we will not see any exciting result from the Project Kashmir.

If many people in this forum are just waiting with some hope for the result of Project Kashmir,
I had better stop the Project Kashmir.
Nothing would happen unless we do take an action right now.

Anyway, I will suspend posting reports at the Project Kashmir
until at least 10 people fax the petition to Congressional offices.

I have sent a copy ...................... never thought I would give in to the blackmail :)

Hey Kashmir:

Buddy we are with you in all of your noble efforts. I just faxed in my petition too. Took me almost an hour - the fax numbers were constantly busy except for Barbara Boxers, which I got through in one shot.

I am really anxious to see progress in the number of touched cases if not approved cases. My situation at the job is not very stable and I am feeling nervous thinking of the consequences of being laid off. Could you post the WAC 02 stats if possible...

Thanks...

Hi, vg0405,
I will try to create the report of the last weekend scan and to post it this night from my home.

However, the result of Project Kashmir is based on scan data of the BCIS Case Status Online.
As I wrote before, don't have a hope too much for it.

Anyway, thanks for your coorperation at the Project Ocean.

1amShantanuA and lareds,
Thanks for your cooperation to "FAX THE PETITION" Campaign, too.

kashmir,

Thanks for your effort posting the valuable analysis. I have faxed a petition to my local congresswoman.
