Project in Europe: GC Status

This has been the most discussed topic in this forum. Everybody seems to have something different in their case.

Here is mine:

I am working on a global project and the for the next 7 months or so I will be travelling to Germany. I will stay in Germany for 3 weeks and then 1 week in US. This cycle will go on for the duration of the project. There may be one or two instances where I will remain in Europe for upto 6 weeks contineously. I am being paid by my US employer and have my residence here as well. I will continue to pay Federal, state and local taxes From my understanding this should have no impact on my GC. But here is the curve ball.. To save money all project members have been given corporate apartments in Germany and they take care of rent and utilities. In other words I may have have dual residences. Now what happens to the GC.

Any thoughts

I really dont think you have a problem, but my advice would be to apply for a Re-entry permit just in case your Project goes on beyond a year.
As long as you travel back to the US every month for a week, there shouldnt be a problem at all. As long as you can show that you work and live in the US but are traveling on business to Germany, there should not be any problem.
It will be advisable to carry with you recent Utility bills, credit card statements, Pay-stubs etc while re-entering the US, just to prove that you still live in the US and are only traveling to Germany for official purposes.
Typically you do not have a problem upto a year, but beyond that you need to take some precautions.

reentry permit is in case if someone go and dont come back at all for more than a year.

so if someone stay 2 years but come back every 5 months,
i think he doesnt have to apply for reentry permit ,

2 years period abraod is normal since the citizenship requirements says that less than 30 months abroad is finep
