Processing time for Canadian Criminal Record applied outside Canada.

Anyone has experience applying Canadian Criminal Record from RCMP?
In RCMP web site states Max. 120 days or 12 wks if no fingerprints match.
How long did it take you to receive the record from the date you sent?
I think I will have my interview in May or June, but not sure if the Canadian criminal record will turn out in time.

Hello!
In my case it just took 5 weeks.

I was living in Canada for 10 years then I moved to England 2 years ago, I had to request the criminal record for my interview,
After 4 weeks I sent them am email to ask if they received my application and how was the status, and a week later they reply back saying that it was finalized and they sent it already!

My CN was current for october (and I found out I won in July, so I wasn't sure if I would have time, I was PANICKING!!!) I was even planning to go back to Montreal, just to apply there since they can do it faster in canada.

Anyway good luck... I hope you already sent out your application :)

hello I was in the same situation
What I did :
If you can, do not apply directly to RCMP it takes 120 days
I applied with a private company ( maximum 10 open days ) , they are recognized and work with the RCMP
what the gonna give you is a police certificate
normally when you are outside the country you should apply for a criminal record with fingerprints, but it is a long procedure
for more information go to
immihelp.com/immigration/police-certificates.html ( canada section )

you can do a police certificate with this company, go to their website
l1id.com

I lived in montreal for 12 years, so I send my documents to the company over there
montreal@L1id.com
you can also write an email to them, they will reply the same day,
I think that even If it is not the same city they can work on you paper or give you the right email address
I was asked to send 2 IDs : it must be certified copies, scan them and send them by email...
pay 100 CDN dollars with credit card or...
anyways write an email to this address and they will tell you what to do
after the receive everything it is very fast...

dont worry If I did , you can do it
Thanks God

If I was you I would do it with the RCMP directly like I did... why?

1.This is how they said to do it on the immigration website (DVselectee)
2. I think that until 2010, you could ask for private companies to do it for you ( I have done it through a private company in 2009 when I first got in the UK for my new job), and it was really quick. However, I think it's not seen as valid anymore. When I was looking to do it again for my interview, I saw that somewhere and was forced to do one with the RCMP. SO it's up to you... you should confirm with your embassy if it would be ok. Plus with the RCMP it's just 25$CA.

Anyway, good luck :)

Thanks Imahira:
I think I kind of agree with Sista_mai.
You can let us know if the police certificate is valid after your interview.

I still have some time before my interview, if it only takes 5 wks, then I will go with fingerprint with RCMP to be safe side.
