processing speeding???

Hi everybody,
One of my friend told me the INS anounced that they gonna focus on GC process recently. unbelievable? any official source about this? or just poor's dream?

Yeah sure, all December soldiers get out in October, all officers below captain's rank get a promotion and all girls outside the barracks are honest...
 
What they're focusing is processing I-485 for I-360 Religious Workers before the program sunsets on Sept 30, 2003.
So the message from your friend is partially correct.

07/28/2003: BCIS HQ Orders Expedite Handling of Special Immigrant Religious Worker Cases Before 10/01/2003

The BCIS has released a memorandum instructing field offices to expedite I-360 Special Immigrant Religious Worker Petitions and the related I-485 applications so that these cases be adjudicated before the law sunsets on September 30, 2003. This is a very welcome decision, and this site sends salute to William Yates, the Deputy Director of BCIS for operations.
 
Subclauses (II) and (III) of section 101(a)(27)(C)(ii) of the INA provide for the admission

I don;t understand does this related to only religious worker. It also says that those professionals who qualifies with special occupation.
What does that mean?
IS that one who have filed on ED2 category like Masters, PhD ??
Are those special occupation or professionals.

I know any one can be professionals.

Just curious
 
Bottom line: the memorandum only applies to those who filed I-485 based on I-360 approval. If you are not a religious worker, forget about getting your I-485 prioritized for processing before Sept 30, 2003!
