Processing Speed for I-485

Hi,

My green card process has been pending at I-485 stage for 9 months in Vermont center (It got filed in Vermont center in September, 2002).

I have noticed that the processing time for I-485 has barely moved forward since fall 2002 at almost all the centers baseded on the date update on the Internet.

Does any one know if BCIS is still processing for I-485 applications?

Is there any sign that the processing time will improve?

BCIS is processing 485 cases but not at a high priority. I think for Sep 2002 filers, its safe to expect AD in early 2004.

It is VERY SLOW. I would use consular services if eligible.

Thanks for the info. What caused the process to slow down? Is it "security check"?
