Procedure to travel on AP

What is the procedure to travel on AP?
Do they send AP only to lawyers (according to my lawyer)?
 
Simple - carry the AP approval along with your passport. AP will be mailed to your home address and not the lawyer.

Thanks for reply.My lawyer says AP is always mailed to lawyers. In my case they sent it to the lawyer. He sent that back to me thats what he claims. It never reached me for last two weeks. I just dont know what to do.
